The Road To Weight Control Is A Very Personal Journey.

Reaching your ideal body weight is a hard and personal journey.  It is different for every person, and very different between women and men.  A new study shows that women actually gain weight the first three weeks of a “diet” and men lose weight day one. 

There are several theories on this topic: Men have more muscle and muscle burns fat, so we women are encouraged to strength train at least twice a week, more muscle equals less fat.  Also men eat “meat” protein, while women like there carbs, sugar.  So a healthy well balanced eating plan with proteins and carbs is best. 

The most interesting part of this new study is women actually gain weight in the first three weeks of a “diet.”  Research shows that the womens body protects and defends the reproductive organs.  If the body feels it is going to be starved because there is not ample food available, like in our ancestors, when food was limited, the female body slows down the metabolism and defends and protects the reproductive organs.  The new research shows with a healthy weight loss plan that this lasts for approx. three weeks.  Then the body realilzed we are still feeding it, just less, and not starving it. 

 This totally makes sense to me, personally.  I would get discouraged each time right around the three week period, and give up.  It also makes sense to when using Pi2 ,clinical studies show optimal performance is a the three week marker.
